oh my goodness. today, we went to the consignment shop. i died and went to heaven. literally, it was majestic. a chevron sweater, knit skirt, and all kinds of chunky sweaters. i am so pumped. so, anyways, tomorrow i shall be wearing some of my wonderful beauties for my dear readers to see.

ever since i was about six, i have been coming up with names for my children. they have varied from rather normal ones to original names.whenever, i hear or see a name i like, i write in down on a list i have. this list, i shall share with you. :)

girl names. many beautiful and unusual girls names can be found rather easily. some of my favorites are..

Just thought I'd do a little post about my IPod touch that I bought last year..er 2 years ago.

this was my screen saver last week. lately, i have been having "words to live by" every week and last week it was "live in the moment." i am focusing on enjoying the moment and not just getting through the day and always straining for the next "fun thing" to do. just to live in the moment and enjoy life and what God has given you.

this is my screen saver this week because I am focusing on "being radical."

Today we took our sweet Dima to the airport and he is flying back to Ukraine as I type. I tried to stay strong while he was around but as soon as we left the airport I broke down in tears. Part of my heart boarded that plane to Ukraine and it hurts. Prayers regarding our next step would be appreciated. :)

I had a very blessed Christmas and it went by oh-so-quickly! To then that we have been waiting and preparing for months for one day that seems like one hour. Today we woke up bright and early (okay, 8:30) and headed to the beach around 12. So, because I that, I am not able to post pictures. :( But I will tell you what I got and include some stock photos if possible.

Project Pinterest #1- Owl Smores

I saw this picture on Pinterest and decided to try this. Here is the outcome:

I think they turned out pretty cute and they are really delicious, too! Here is the recipe that I made up:

Owl Smores

(ingredients are in pink)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Break as many graham crackers as you want in half and lay them out on a cookie sheet.

Put on 2 marshmallows to be the eyes.

Then bake for 3-5 minutes or until the marshmallows kind of puff up.

Then pull them out of the oven and press down the marshmallows until they are kind of flat.

Then dot brown or black icing as eyes.

Then add a jelly bean as the nose.

Enjoy!

i have to say december is my favorite months. (okay, maybe i say that every month) i love all of the preparations for christmas. seeing family. getting presents. and remembering the birth of Jesus and not just that, but remembering why He was born: so that he could save us. a Christmas card we received recently from some friends put it perfectly:

Who just dropped off the face of the earth? Me! By the way, if the earth is round, how can you drop off the face of it?? Just a thought for ya'll to ponder. :) I had planned on doing the Fall Fashion Challenge at Bramblewood Fashion but I am going to have to be a few days late because I am at home sick. :( Thus, we come to the reason for this post.

1) Read a book- who doesn't love the smell of a book? or being able to cuddle up in your bed and just read and never have your sister come in and say, "AK, you have to stop reading, its time for lunch" or whatever your sister says.

Do you like baking? Yes, but I don't do it much. I love baking sweets and cakes, but right now, since we can only have 20g of sugar a day, I can't. :( But I do like baking.

In my survey, I included a section to ask questions and one was "What are your rules about clothes?" Hmm.. In summer I usually, try to have my shorts not above fingertip length and I usually stray away from spaghetti strap tank tops. I own a few, but I try to only wear them on really hot days and when I am in my backyard or at home.

In winter, I don't have many rules for myself just because its harder to show too much when its so cold. I mainly keep my jeans not too tight and my shirts not too low.

For example, I got a whole bag of nice hand-me-down jeans size 14 and although I am 12, they were too tight. It's really sad what this modern society teaches us in the ways of clothing. I mean, seriously, who would want to wear such tight, uncomfortable jeans?

Keep Calm and Eat Healthy

Because of my sister and dad's high cholesterol, we have to eat healthy and right now, we on a gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy free diet for 3 months. To tell the truth, so far, it has not gone too well for me. :( My feelings towards this diet have definitely changed for the better and I am getting used to it, but I still would love prayers. :) So, since we are on this diet, my mom has been doing a lot of research on healthy living. We now drink a sort of liquid grass mixer called "BarleyMax." (gross, I know)

When I first started drinking BarleyMax, I would gag every time I drank it. Then, mom got the berry flavor, and it wasn't quite as bad, but gagging was still inevitable. One day, I prayed about it and set my heart to liking BarleyMax and the gagging stopped. With the Lord's help, I stopped hating BarleyMax. Now, there still are days when I am grossed out when I drink it, but it is not nearly as bad.

Eating healthy has changed my way of thinking of food. Instead of thinking of it as pleasure, I think of it as fuel. Instead of eating candy or carbs when I'm hungry, I eat carrots. I've learned that Cocunut Milk and Almond Milk are actually really good. I've learned to control my sugar and fruit (yes, it does have sugar in it) intake. Healthy Living has changed my life.

Today I went on a 20 minute run and then did a 6 minute work out with the Nike Training Club App
on my Ipod touch. Its a really neat app and I did a leg workout, which really works. I am so tired. Lately, my mom has told me to do 30 minutes of exercise 4 days a week. I usually bike with my dad on Mondays and Wednesdays and on Tuesdays and Fridays, I run by myself and do a Nike workout. I'm thinking about getting a Ipod armband so its easier to run with a my Ipod.

This is sunset over the Adriatic Sea. I took this from the boat when we were on our Europe cruise. Aren't the colors beautiful?

Yesterday was my birthday. My 12th birthday. I am now 12. I got my ears pierced yesterday. For my 12th birthday. Life is truly good.

Oh, this oughta be fun! I love answering random questions. Except tags, I just don't do tags, no offense to anyone, but tags are really purposeless. Anyways..

Favorite thing about summer? no school and being in swim meets, oh and going on trips. :D

Fresh or saltwater? Fresh, when I lost teeth my mom would make me gargle with salt water to get the blood to stop. Whenever I taste salt water, I think of that. Not a good memory.

Pen or pencil? If I can't find a mechanical pencil, I'd have to go with a pen. Sharpie pens are awesome. Oh and erasable pens...
Paper or plastic? Paper is better to the environment, but plastic is recyclable... Probably both.

Anyways, we are leaving on Wednesday and won't be back until like May 10th, but my dad will be home so no one can rob us, so I can write this blog post (yay!) So, I have to go and pack, bye. Favorite season, and why?
Hmm.. probably Summer because there is no school! But, I definitely don't like the July/August part of summer, because where I live, that is when it starts becoming 100+ degrees. Whew....

How would you describe your personal style?
Man, that's hard too! Ummm.. Well, I guess I love wearing pastely things and I absolutely love anything denim! Jean shorts, Jeans, Jean skirt, anything! :D

What's one weird thing you can do? (The stranger the better!)
My thumb and big toe are double jointed. Wish you could see me do it... Maybe I'll make a video of me doing it...... Be expecting that... :)

Rain or shine?
Either, rain means movies and books, shine means water gun fights and tree climbing. I'll take either!

I am a very bossy sister and I am really working on being less bossy and more nice to my little sister Elizabeth. I yell at her way too much.

Have you ever made a decision you instantly regretted? What was it?
Too many to count. The most recent one was when I painted with my favorite shirt on, and I got black (yes, black) paint on it. Boy, thank goodness for strong stain remover...

My mom.

Shoes!! Flats, heels, flip flops, I LOVE shoes!

If you were an animal, what would you be?
I think I'd be my cat, I mean because who wouldn't want to be rubbed all day and have as much food as you want and catch lizards! (Okay maybe not the last one...)

If you knew you were going to die in a year, what would you do with your time?
I'd go to Paris and Jamaica, I'd give all of my money to missionaries, I'd give most of my clothes to poor children, oh and I've got a good one, I'll write a will! (haha, I don't know if 11 year olds can write wills...)

You're now a gazillionaire... where do you go to spend your money?
I'd buy a Honda Pilot, give 5 million to missionaries, give 8 million to my family, and buy a yatch and a mansion and the remainder would be spend on shoes and clothes!!

Classical music: love it or hate it?
I can tolerate it. The reason I don't hate it is because I feel kinda sorry for some of the composers. (especially Beethoven, imagine composing music while deaf! Talk about perseverance.

Going outside by myself in the dark.

It would have to be England

Are you an extrovert or an introvert?
Extrovert. I am extremely social, I'd blabber on for months and I am a born leader, even though all of my friends are like 8 months older than me, I always end up leading them around alot and talking and ordering things, ALOT.

Would you/do you perform on stage?
I play piano and have been in 3 plays and I would be in every play possible, but my mom can't take me to rehearsals often at 5:30-8. (my mom's a champ, she did it the whole month of November last year :)

She looks a lot like me except that she always wears her hair in a tight bun, but I prefer wearing my hair down. My little brother, James, is 8 years old and loves to annoy me and to play with match box cars.

What does your bedroom look like: My bedroom is the only room on the 2nd floor of our house and it is painted brown and my bedspread has brown and turquoise plaid on it. I have a reading/homework area in the corner and a window seat behind my bed.

What do your think of yourself when you look in the mirror: where is that acne cream!

Most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you: When I wet my pants in the library of my school in first grade. *shudder*

What do you really, REALLY want more than anything else I the world: To understand God and to figure why he is making my life so miserable. I know I should trust him, but how can I trust someone who I don't even know if he is there or not!

Hello, my name is Anna Katherine (but, lots of people call me AK). I am a 11 year old homeschooled young lady learning to trust Jesus and serve Him only.

How long have you been writing? About 2 years.
When did you first realize how much you loved writing? Probably when I got my first assignment at this writing class I take.
What is your favorite thing about writing? Being creative and thinking of what the story is about.
Which do you like better, Planning or Rewriting? probably neither, but I guess I like rewriting better.
What do you consider your best work of writing? "A Hectic Honeymoon" (a short story that I wrote about 5 weeks ago.)
What kind of writing do you feel the strongest in? probably writing short stories, I actually have never written any kind of story that is more than 4 pages long. :)
How many books have you started writing? about five
How many books have you finished writing? ZERO!
How many books are you working on right now? 1
Have you ever taken a writing class? yes, I started taking it in 4th grade and I still do it.
If so, what did you get the most out of it? Hmm... probably learning about using strong adverbs, adjectives, etc.
